Since the death of his beloved dog, 16-year-old Paul has abandoned the fantastical adventures he once drew, in which the two of them were fearless heroes. When his younger sister insists that he complete an unfinished drawing, Paul is drawn back into the imaginary world he left behind, and the memories he has tried to avoid. Returning to the page may offer him a way to honour their friendship and begin facing his grief.
Director Details
Thibault Chollet was born in Dijon in 1987 and earned a master’s degree in Cinema in Lyon in 2011. During his studies, he created his first animated short film. Since graduating, he has worked as an assistant director and technical director on feature films and animated television series. The Empty Panel marks his third collaboration with GASP!
