Mar Mama
Haunted by her mother’s death and recurring attacks by Israeli forces on her city, a young girl becomes obsessed with death. To distract her, her father makes a stop-motion film. However, his attempts fail and the girl finds nothing other than imagination to escape from reality.

Majdi El-Omari is a Canadian-Palestinian filmmaker, editor, and scriptwriter with a BA in Filmmaking from Cairo Institute of Cinema and an MFA in Film Production from Concordia University. His work often explores themes of alienation and struggle against political and social forces. Notable films include Standstill, Between Me and You, and The Evergreen Oak. El-Omari is currently writing his feature film The Woman of the Bees and teaching fiction filmmaking at Dar Al-Kalima University in Bethlehem.
