Synopsis:

The film follows Jolan, a Syrian woman who has been confined to an electric wheelchair due to a physical disability since childhood. Orphaned early, she lived alone in a nursing home until she married and fulfilled her dream of becoming a mother. Despite her joy in hearing her child call her “Mama,” her marriage ended when her child, born with Down syndrome, required specialized care. The film portrays the unique bond between Jolan and her child, each relying on the other to complete their lives.

About the Directors:

Ghosoon Al Madi was born in Damascus in 1987, graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Damascus and holds a Diploma in Educational Training. As a war and field correspondent, she covered various fronts of the Syrian conflict. Her notable documentaries include “The Crutch of a Nation” and “Dawn’s Light,” which highlight the struggles and resilience of Syrians amid the war.
