The Rebels
An artful businessman intends to build a large commercial complex. But bad luck, there is no free space for this in the city center. Then the businessman incites selfish city officials to demolish the building of a boarding school for “special needs” children, where the heroine of the film, the silent girl Nastya, ends up. But the children categorically disagree with this and defend their home.

Born in 1948 in Leningrad, Vladimir Alenikov is a distinguished theater and film director, writer, and poet. Renowned for turning each of his films into a significant event, he made a notable mark with his 1990 musical, The Drayman and the King. The film’s success at the Toronto and Los Angeles Film Festivals led to an invitation to Hollywood. Currently residing in Moscow, Vladimir serves as the head of the Moscow Musical and Drama Theater “ÀNTE”. He has received over 50 awards at international and Russian festivals and has been honored with several international film awards for his contributions to cinema.
