Saleeg
In the midst of Mrs. Hajer’s preparations for a special meal, language barriers make it difficult for her to communicate with a vegetable vendor. Feeling discouraged, she receives unexpected news from her son, disturbing her plans. Absentmindedly, she forgets about the rice boiling (Saleeg) on the stove, causing a messy incident.

Afnan Bawyan
Afnan Bawyan is a scriptwriter and began her career as a scriptwriter and assistant producer at an animation studio. She then worked as a script supervisor on six Saudi feature films. Her first short animation film “Saleeg” received a Special Mention at the Saudi Film Festival, and won the Daw’ Film Fund, and is funded by the Saudi Ministry of Culture. The first feature film she wrote “Photographer of Madina” was accepted at the Red Sea International Film Lab in collaboration with Torino Film Lab.
