Alvin, a 14-year-old British-Jamaican teen, feels no excitement for the London 2012 Olympics. While the world celebrates Usain Bolt, the legendary Jamaican sprinter, Alvin prefers video games — to the frustration of his sports-obsessed father, Lester. But when he is chosen for school sports day, Alvin must face pressure that could reveal the runner within.

Rhys Aaron Lewis is a London-based writer and director whose career began in documentary film with BFI, BBC, and The Guardian before transitioning into narrative fiction. His work focuses on comedy and stories of marginalised communities. His short Run Like We, funded by Prime Video UK, screened at BAFTA- and Oscar-qualifying festivals. In 2024, he joined the BFI × Glasgow Funny Features Lab, where he is developing his debut crime-comedy feature Hundreds and Thousands.
