As the student’s family pursues legal action and secures a warrant for the teacher’s arrest, the teacher faces a harrowing dilemma—ultimately forced to endure a similar punishment to avoid prosecution.
Director Details
Puya Mofid was born in 2003, in Isfahan. He is a young Iranian filmmaker who began his journey in cinema at age 13. He has worked in various roles including assistant director, cinematographer, and editor, but now focuses primarily on directing. A graduate in Animation from the School of Fine Arts in Isfahan, he is currently pursuing a BA in Cinema. Puya is the founder and director of Khat-e Farzi Film School—the first licensed film and art school in Isfahan—making him the youngest filmmaker in Iran to own a film school. Punishment is his first professional short film, created with a team of experienced cinema and theater professionals.
