Shahnaz, the oldest daughter of a nomadic family, enjoys writing and is always moved and inspired by her surroundings and lifestyle. But, just like her fate would have it, her father wishes to marry her off to improve the family's financial situation and circumstances, but at what cost? Meanwhile Shahnaz wishes to pursue larger dreams and aspirations, but how much can she push herself when everything around her is now slowly going against her? A close-to-home film that smoothly manages to strike a chord with all its viewers.

Marjan Khosravi

Marjan Khosravi was born in 1996. She is a young Iranian filmmaker who studied Cinema and Media Art. She mostly focused on women’s social problems and motivated them in her films. Marjan made her first short documentary “The Price of Blood” in 2018, it got admiration in many national festivals. “The Snow Calls” was her first mid-length documentary and selected for the student competition at IDFA 2020 and won the best feature documentary award from Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. “The Dream of a Horse” is another film, nominated for grand prix and Ingmar Bergman Award of 40th edition.
