Mahdi Zamanpour poetic documentary presents moments from the daily life of Abolfazl, a little kid who is without both hands. This documentary effortlessly yet effectively hits you on the right nerves and brings you along to his life. Despite his infirmity, Abolfazl leads a full life in a palm grove on the Afghan-Iranian border, where overseas tourists frequently come for eco-tourism. He and his companion, an eight-year-old girl named Setayesh, are among a handful of stateless youngsters living in Iran's remote border region, and the lack of a birth certificate jeopardizes their prospects.

Iranian director, writer and producer Mahdi Zamanpour was born in 1975. He holds master’s degree in TV production from University of IRIB (Film Directing). He started his career as Director, Writer & Producer since 2004 and has made more than 65 documentaries and TV programs. His medium-length documentary portrait “Mashti Esmaeil” received awards at several international film festivals, including Visions du Réel, where it won the main prize.
